Just rebuilt my door lock following it being vandalised
After dismantling my old one I needed to take care on how to proceed with the replacement one
I bought a 2nd hand lock and dismantled it
Hack saw and drill around the locking dowel to allow it to be removed. The drill holes at the sides allow you to persuade the locking dowel out as it’s a tight fit

Then saw through the gear wheel. Do this carefully to preserve the locking ring. You can reuse the gear from your original one

You can then slide the barrel out and replace the tumblers. Matching up the sequence of tumblers from your old lock

This is not for the perfectionist but saved me spending £120 on replacement barrel to match the keys. I was lucky that I was able to make the sequence match with a mixture of old pins and some from the replacement lock
