Doubled service stamp

Morning all

Just acquired my A2 on 114k. Had a dig through the service book, which threw up a conundrum for me.
Book says timing belt was done at the 77k service.
But the next service at 88k says the timing belt was done again. Different garage.

Any ideas why that might be?
Was there any issue with a poor batch of belts, or could it be as simple as a new owner wanting to double down on good servicing?

Thoughts appreciated.

Unless there is invoices to support the work I'd suggest it's just a mistake on filling in the service book. On memory it's a section on the right requesting the mileage of toothed timing belt to be entered?

As you've just acquired the vehicle and if you plan on keeping it long term, I'd suggest you get the belt, tensioners and oil pump chain and tensioner done next year. Worthwhile peace of mind.

Thanks Murdo

Just noticed your comments on this.
Yes - the page is on the right of the service log - in both cases the mileage has been filled in.

I suspect you are right - timing belt check probably coming up on the horizon soon!
