Drivers door locking issues

I returned home from collecting my A2 from Steve (Providence), had a great trip home with no issues.
However, whilst waiting for the oil to settle (has a leak so stopped to check the level) I turned my attention to the issue of the drivers door locking. I have found that
1. If you lock the car with the remote all locks function except the drivers door.
2. If you lock the car with the key, the drivers door and all other locks function. You can unlock the car with the remote including the drivers door.
3. If I sit in the back of the car and lock the car with the switch on the interior drivers door all locks function. Reaching from the rear seat open window I could test the drivers door which locked.

So my conclusion is that the drivers door will not lock only when using the remote.
Any ideas as to why???

If it is not working on the remote but everything else including fuel flap and interior light is working on the drivers door, then most likely is the door controller module is on it way out. Have you had a VCDS scan done on the car?

It's only the remote locking, and only the one door, that's not working, so probably not the controller module.
I think the lock micro switch is faulty, so the controller doesn't know the door's closed, so will not lock it.
Once it's locked manually, the controller is happy, and so will unlock it remotely.
Probably the micro switch lever (ie mechanical) rather than the actual switch contacts. Door card off to see more. Not sure a scan will show this. Just my opinion of course.
Very common fault on Mk1 TTs. Bit of plastic, (strip of butter tub), under the micro switch roller works. Suspect the A2 is similar. Mac.
