Your connector in the plug itself is a 2.8mm female spade. Nothing special. Use an uninsulated one. Alternatively, get the correct pins as listed here including part numbers: http://www.passatplus.de/umbauteile/stecker/stecker3.htm

I think that I've said it all there and it's difficult to see what I can add? What didn't you understand? There's a plug that connects to the main light switch. It has a location marked "DFL" It's from there that you need to take your DRL live feed. There isn't a pin there, though, so you need to insert a new one into the plug so that the connection can be made.

It's just that new pin I am asking about, so I can source a couple. @bretti_kivi has given me that info, but, thanks for the detailed info, good to know step by step, before you start.
