Dump Valve wiring

are you talking about the blind-ended plastic tube that runs around the metal frame above the headlights? If this is some kind of resonance damper for the intake airflow as suggested above (if I've understood it) it would answer a very longstanding question that came up when @timmus & @cheechy were at mine a few weeks back.

That's the one - i assumed that's what it is for as I've seen this type of system used in different applications - mainly plumbing and construction, there is an empty dead end piece of pipe and when there is back pressure or jump/decrease in pressure it gives space to expand etc. so pipes do not burst. This would to a dampen the blowback essentially and possibly partially as resonance chamber - as turbo is not huge and there is quite a bit of tube that little bit of tube probably has been deemed enough by audi? Sometimes it has a little pressure relief valve as well in so it dampens it and blows it out if it is "catastrophic" by which it would be a blow off valve i guess?

Not familiar with the longstanding question but it is my guess on what that pipe is for?

Edit - does not look like 7zap schematic has that piece of pipe?

Don't think anyone has mentioned the AMF / BHC engine has a 'wastegate valve' built into the turbo which is actuated by a boost capsule via the N75 valve. This dumps exhaust gas flow into the exhaust pipe, bypassing the turbine impeller so the turbo slows down and immediately lowers boost pressure.

Nobody (apart from yourself) is getting sensitive. This was a thread from nine years ago, where the OP was given the exact information he was after in a matter of hours.

I've no idea whatever why @laimis chose to resurrect the thread, perhaps he could give us an explanation.
