Good Evening,

If you mean a black and grey (trace) wire then this terminates at fuse 6 according to this 09/2003 wiring diagram.

I rmeeber @PlasticMac said E22 was in the steering column and is the wiper connector block.

I'm looking to the fit wire to pin 9 in j31 as its blank in my car. It looks like it's yellow black goes to 54. What is 54 please, headlight??
Thank you

Good Afternoon,

54 terminates at a weld, B9.

The wire that you don't have, and want to add, is the one with a * and a number 84 against it in above diag, by @Andrew
If the position 9, in 😕J31 is vacant, buy a pin, add your new wire, and push it into the housing. Tee into the yellow/black wire in the stalk area, or the light switch. That's the voltage that tells the squirter the headlights are on so squirt is enabled.

Weld here is not the everyday meaning of a steel weld, oxy acetylene torches and all that. In the electrical world It appears to be a crimped connection made by some factory monster machine that isn't ever coming undone.

I only understand wiring diagram basics, strongly suggest to watch the short wiring diagram tutorial videos by Ross-Tech, well worth it.

Cheers, do you know, I was just googling beginners wiring diagrams to watch :p My geekiness couldnt help be interested in them. Always keen to learn...

I've been using wiring and circuit diagrams most of my working life, and stll in retirement, but these VAG schematics, so called "current flow diagrams" are very hard work.
Mac.
