Edinburgh Low Emissions zone

Can I ask if your car's emission values are on your current V5C (CO, NOx, HC and particulates) or are the fields blank?
No figure for particulates, but CO, HC, and NOx figures are all shown

I have received the email back from type approval. According to them, both cars are EU3. At least they are consistent!

All those fields are blank.

In addition, I noticed my car is listed as a 3 door!

Hopefully I can get that corrected too.

I e mailed audi regards euro 4 a few days ago for my fsi so we can update the V5C, and have had a e mail today from audi and its in the post. not sure why they are posting the paper work but its on the way.

You need to send the paper copies, along with your V5C, to DVLA.
Saves your printer ink!

In reply to a letter to my MP, the following was received from the DoT:

"In the absence of a confirmed Euro status for a vehicle, the Drive in a Clean Air Zone service considers the Date of First Registration of that vehicle and the emissions values recorded at registration to determine whether it likely meets the Euro 4 (Petrol) or Euro 6 (Diesel) minimum emissions standard for Clean Air Zones. Vehicles that were registered before a particular Euro standard became mandatory, but demonstrate emissions values recorded at registration that meet the Euro standard in question, may be deemed to meet that Euro standard by the Drive in a Clean Air Zone service (and thus may not be subject to Clean Air Zone charges).
If emissions values are not present on the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA) record, or do not indicate that a vehicle meets the required Euro standard, evidence from the manufacturer such as a Certificate of Conformity must be provided to the DVLA to update the vehicle record."

Therefore if you have a petrol EU3 vehicle that meets the EU4 emission standard, contact the Clean Air Zone helpdesk either by telephone on 0300 029 8888, or on the gov.uk website at: https://contact.dvla.gov.uk/caz/.

Where to send your V5C

For all other changes, send your V5C to DVLA, Swansea, SA99 1BA

@PlasticMac has DVLA returned yours, yet? I am planning to send mine off soon.
Hi @herx
Still waiting for my two. V5s, about three weeks so far. They did say approx four weeks, but I don't think DVLA are an example of adminiistrive efficency, so not holding my breath. I'll post here when (?) they arrive.
Mac.

but I don't think DVLA are an example of adminiistrive efficency,
That's the understatement of the year! In relation to my post, armed with the letter from the DoT, I again requested that they could mark the relevant V5C as EU3/EU4 Compliant. It went back and fro about six times; at first they refused to answer me as the official keeper is my wife. Then they asked me about details from the V5C. They asked me about the model but due to their deficiencies, the model field is blank. Fuel is diesel but they required heavy oil! In the end they told me that they couldn't help me although they knew what my request was from the start. They told me to ring the number originally supplied by the DoT.

My advice to anyone with an EU3 petrol car that meets the EU4 emission standard would be drive into the CAZ, get fined, refuse to pay and be taken to court. At court show your V5C/CoC and say "No case to answer, your honour!".

My description of DVLA as "... don't think DVLA are an example of adminiistrive efficency" was intended to raise an ironic smile.
Mac.

News (of the wrong kind). Just spoke to DVLA, (after a 20 minute recitation of we are very busy etc), and nothing has happened with my V5Cs.
This is after 5 weeks, and having been quoted 4 weeks turn around.
Kind Gentleman at DVLA said 4 weeks was totally unrealistic, and 10 - 12 was nearer the mark.
At this rate, I could become an @RAB clone Grrrrrrrrr ...
Mac,

I can confirm that 12 weeks will be nearer the mark!

By the way, does anyone have an EU3 Audi petrol with meets the EU4 emission standard?

RAB

I think that's a wise decision. I can imagine the vast mountain of paper that's in the DVLA building, and the pressure they're under to shift it. I suspect some will "get lost" in transit ?
Mac.
Hi,
I received the updated V5C for my TT today, but still waiting for the new V5C for our FSI.
The TT's new V5C has the car as Euro 4, and the emissions data from the CoC are there too.
So, it seems the system works, if a little slowly ...
Mac.

Got my EURO 4 letter from Audi today. Think I will wait until the back log dies down a bit before sending it off to Swansea!

I understand your concern, but the TT "only" took 5 weeks. Not sure they'll ever catch up, if the. Pandemic retreats new car sales will rise, and demand on DVLA will increase too. I suspect they're still mainly "analogue" or worse, "hybrid"
I was surprised that they only accept paper, despite the fact that every bit of incoming paper is scanned!

As there is no specific item that is changed, (only the euro 4 added), what did you say to theDVLA as there does not appear to be a relevant section or box that needs ticking on the V5
