EML light flicker briefly after driving around / above 3000rpm?

Bumblebee

When I bought bumblebee she had a P0302 misfire on cyl 2. I moved the coil packs around and cleaned all plugs as they were sooty.......

Took it for a spin earlier as I'd filled up with 98 and emptied some redex in too......

She ran with a slightly lumpy idle ( sitting at about 900rpm) but drove without missing like limp mode.... Pushed to 3000rpm and then as revs dropped the EML light blinked a few times then went out?? Repeated exercise and same......

Just sharing incase this is an obvious issue others have experienced-fixed, but I'm still thinking a vacuum hose / air leak know I understand more about the F.S.I cycle etc.......

TIA.....

As you may know the blinking EML indicates a misfire is detected. If you check the ECU a fault will be logged for this.

No fault codes recorded......
It didn't run with any judders either or lag. Accelerated clean and strong, but idle is lumpy at rest.........

Sadly not it's just my old CAN-OBDII.....
I am wondering if it's something to do with vacuum side on the flaps actuator to do with stratification....???
It did surge like a power band kick at 3000 rpm though. New to FSI but did feel it.... ??

Others on here know far more about the FSI than I do, but VCDS does appear a pretty essential diagnostic tool for anyone looking to maintain the FSI themselves.

VCDS-Lite is more than adequate providing you register it with Ross-Tech (which costs around £75, depending on the prevailing exchange rate), otherwise full VCDS which starts at £225.

Could even use the shareware version with a cheap cable and lookup the codes online

Shareware????? Seen the cables which are USB ended. My CAN-OBDII has usb end so are pins the same in can socket???

Thanks.... Nice profile pic btw

Thanks this type of cable

But be warned it comes with a pirated version of 409.1 vagcom (old VCDS)
