Engine missing heavily - potentially when wet

Hello,

My 1.4 petrol is still stumbling, VCDS shows up as a misfire on 3 (this now hasn't come up so recently) now it's injectors 2 and 4 shorting to positive. I've noticed this happens far more in the wet and after the car has been standing - i'm guessing that's no coincidence! There is also a pool of water collecting on top of the inlet manifold between the injectors! Is this a common thing with these? Are there some drains blocked somewhere, does anyone have any suggestions as to where I could look?

Thanks!

Hi

So check that the bonnet drains aren’t blocked and the catcher ‘cups’ they drain into are lined up OK. That said if you are getting water in the region of the injectors, check you haven’t got a split on the scuttle

best wishes

I don’t have a petrol A2 but if the injectors are against the bulkhead then the scuttle is most likely your problem.
Under the scuttle are foam strips that guiide water to drain holes. Check it is all there, replace as necessary, select the drain holes you want. Seal scuttle correctly to screen.
I assume a petrol is the same as.a TDi under the scuttle.
