Engine warning light on! Help!

2001, 1.4 petrol. 50,600 miles. Drove my car home about an hour ago and the engine management light came on.
Its happened before, took it to Audi who stated there was a build up of carbon or something in the system which they cleaned and the light went off. It was apparently due to "lack of car use"

I only do about 50 miles a week in the car, so im wondering if the inactivity has brought the light on again.

Im guessing a good blast of the car on the motorway might clean the system out. Or should I take it somewhere to have it checked. The car is running smoothly with no problems, just thus damn light!

If you didn't get exactly what was building up carbon on the bill for the work that Audi carried out, then you should go back and tell them they didn't fix it.

What you should do is get the fault code to see exactly what's being complained from the warning light. Then we can go from there. A diagnostic scan with print out only takes minutes at a decent honest garage and should cost very little. If I have to guess and it will be a finger in the air wild guess, it is your lambda sensor.
