epc light or my dodgy wiring

:confused: Today Iv noticed that my break lights aren't working, my EPC light turns on and off when it wants and when its on the cruise control doesn't work
so I thought the break lights would be something to do with that, but... recently iv fitted daylight running lights, when fitting them I wired them straight to the side light wires but the main beam wouldnt work so used the brown wire of the headlight adjustment thing (their are 3 wires black, brown, and another couler iv forgot the couler of) Do you think this could be the problem?? all lights front and back work just the break lights work when they want!:mad: if so ill just run an earth to the chassie.

my a2 is full of problems and really getting on top of me at the moment :(

Hi scot yes I would say it's your brake light switch-as when they start to fail they will trigger the "epc" light. The cruise will not work if the switch is not working either as it uses the brake light switch And the clutch switch in its operation.

thanks is this expensive and hard to fit then? where is the switch?

Done it :) it cost £10 and is above the heater vent, easy to do and thanks to the owners club saved me slot of money because I didnt have to take it to a garage!
