Factory Webasto Coolant pre-Heater - possible mod?

Hi All,
would it be possible to convert factory A2 Webasto coolant pre-heater
(which is/should be on when engine is running and outside temps are low)
to one which could be enabled remotely or by timer by adding coolant pump in to circuit and device to request start of webasto say 10-15 min before planned trip?
Just trying to do same in A2 what I have in my T5 Multivan.

Alternative - Get an engine pre-heater, both myself and @gills have one. Not as good as a full-blown webasto but goes some way towards it if you're able to anticipate your journeys well.

I do have factory webasto just wish it could function as one in my Multivan after possible mods
