Failed MOT today

MoTs "under review" but, currently required according to DVSA.
Insurance invalid without one, unless DVSA make a formal announcement, you need to get it done.
Probably best to give your MoT Test Centre a call before leaving though, in case they are short of techs.
Mac.

Well it passed today, just added Cataclean and drove it like it should be driven for 150 miles which is an enormous relief in these troubled times, at least I will be legal until I can get it to WOM for full service etc.
I must say it drives considerably better.
Once again for all your help, Tom, Rob, Spike and all
Please keep safe and look forward to socialising soon. ?

Surprised but pleased it passed. Do you have the emissions 'pass' results for comparison

Cheers Spike

Hi Spike
Thanks for your help, I can't seem to attached the photos but the CO test went from 1.011 fail to 0.105 pass, lambda .966 fail to . 993 pass. Although the HC was a pass at 77 that dropped to 41.
I don't really understand all these readings but at least it passed so I can legally use it until these troubled times pass and then get a full service (due in June) and check at WOM.
All the best to everyone and stay safe, we don't want death figures like Spain, France and China, remember short term pain for long term gain.

Cataclean does work but you do need the miles to let it do its job. Italian tune up gets everything nice and toasty.

Hello,

what is exactly "Italian tune up" and how much Cataclean have you poured in the tank?
And what is the volume of your A2 tank?
How many miles have you driven with Cataclean?

Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!

"Italian tune up" is drive it like you are Tazio Nuvolari (look him up if you have not heard of him). I put the whole 500 ml Cataclean in 1/3 tank (42 litre tank) and drove for approx 70 miles but previous to that to get the fuel level down we drove 200 miles keeping the revs up as the tank was full prior to treatment. Cataclean recommended mixing it in approx with 15 litres of fuel and drive for at least 15 minutes.
Please wear gloves when pouring in the tank and make sure it doesn't get on the paintwork.

Passed MOT .... FSI with a ProBoost ECU. Done around 1200 miles since the ECU swap. Happy.

CO: one third of the allowed emissions
HC: one quarter of the allowed emissions
Lambda: Absolutely slap-bang in the middle of the permitted window

That's an easy pass. :)
