Fair service quote?

Everything is a compromise; changing 95% of the oils is much better than not changing it at all and doing so with hot engine oil should ensure most of the contaminants are suspended in the oil instead of settled on the bottom of the sump.
True that - I would have no issue doing an “interim service” like that if pushed for time - and I have done in the past as I have a Mityvac extractor, but I’d want to ideally drain it properly every time or at least every other.

There are some very good how-to service guides on the forum from a forum elder Sarge.

I used these when I first got into A2’s 10 years ago. Back then I could only change the engine oil.

It’s all just practice and learning as you go along.

Bloody hell. That looks like open heart surgery to me.

BTW that under tray; I removed mine a year ago as it was oil sodden and hanging off. Haven’t missed it.

Helps with aerodynamics and keeps drips somewhat contained; if I didn’t have one fitted I’d certainly buy and fit one. Each to their own though.

Think someone said they’re still avsible from Audi but if not I’m sure someone on the forum will have one kicking about from a breaker.

My under tray illustrating the small area - white envelope beneath so it stands out - adjacent to the drain bung; cut out with a disc grinder, a 5-minute job

I've taken off the tray over a year ago as well, as I had to sort out different things and it was easier to leave it off. I want to put it back before my longer drive next month, I'd have put it back ages ago though, as it's protecting the fan and timing belt for flying debrish as well. Especially now it's been raining a lot, sometimes I get bit of heart attack driving over rubbish and brances, I don't want anything caught by the belts o_O

So only 3 undertrays left in the UK.

They don't post very well either, so collection is from one of us is likely to be the only way forward from now on.

Just called all 3…and they are all gone.

We can add the under tray to the rocking horse poo part of the site. Actually maybe we should have that as a forum section. Hmmm…

Part No: 8z0825235f in case anyones interested.

Regardless which you end up using there are two points to note...

Make sure the clutch is also flushed.

No mention of cambelt / water pump on the above list. But what I can see does not look to be extortionate.
Clutch flush? That's a new one, what does that entail?

Clutch flush is carried out the same time as a brake flush.

Manual state 3 years from new then every 2 years after.

Far simpler to do as it will just about gravity flush when the bleed nipple is opened. Care is needed as the slave cylinder nipple is plastic so correct torque only.
