Fault codes.

Just playing with my new VCDS scanner.
The car has recently has a new lambda sensor fitted at Awesome.
I had the EML on and the fault showing is P0171-35-00 system too lean.
Are these two faults connected?
Have cleared the fault OK.
1.4 petrol 51 plate.

The lambda sensor monitors the exhaust gasses and is used to control / monitor the fuel mixture. A car running too lean will trigger the EML light.

The error code could be an old one, after all you must have had some reason for the Lambda sensor replacement, so it would have had errors logged from before the change.

You should store the scan results and then clear the error codes and run the car for a while and then rescan.
