Finally cracked 60mpg

My fuel economy is about to smash 60 but going back down the other way. My last tank was low, but the current tank I'm burning through is looking to be really awful and I can't work out why...

Have you been buying Tesco's finest diesel again?

No it's funny you should say that though. My car's regular diet is Sainsbury's diesel. However, the last three tanks have all been BP Ultimate Diesel, from the same pump at the same BP garage (was thinking the car deserved a treat, plus the double Nectar points ha ha). MPG on the last 4 tanks has gone from 69 (Sainsbury's), to 60, 54 and 47. Dodgy BP fuel perhaps?

Current tank is Sainsbury's diesel again. So far DIS is saying range left of 530miles and I've already done 160miles on this tank so far.

Is Sainsbury's diesel worth a try? I run mine on ASDA's finest. Our only Sainsbury's for miles is the other side of town.

Well I've run my car almost exclusively on Sainsbury's diesel for the last 5 years with no seeming problems - partly as it's my nearest filling station (well, it's opposite the above-mentioned BP garage), partly because it's my nearest supermarket so am there regularly for food shopping, partly because it's the cheapest filling station in my area and partly because of the Nectar points!

Pretty similar reasons as to why I use ASDA's fuels.

We shop there for the bulk of our groceries, and it's cheaper than the others. By a tiny, tiny bit.
