Finally HID Headlights

Yep, I have 2 splittable ones and 4 non splittable ones.

How do you remove the whole reflector piece from the main body? That would have made access a lot easier for me

If you wind the adjusters all the way out (making them longer) you will find that the reflector plastic part can be easily popped off the ball joint on the end of each adjuster.

But it means setting up the aim again from scratch, but that is easily done.

My car had the headlamps perfectly aimed and so one night I drove pointing towards a wall (or garage door will do) and marked the wall with tape at the upper, lower and side points. Then when I reassembled the headlamps I just drove to exactly the same position and the adjustment was easy to get right.

Sounds good, I have ordered some more projectors, I might make them so they have the main beam too. Ordered some H1 HID bulbs as well as they seem to have smaller bases so should fit better. Will update with progress.

Man this is hard work, really struggling to separate my lens. I already manage to slightly melt one of them. Been at it for an hour trying to get the sticky stuff away.

i found that using a heat gun was far easier . i used to fit angel eyes to bmw e34 head lights ( before you could buy them on ebay ...) you have more control over it and it greatly reduces the chance of coping a frying pan over the head from the Mrs ;)

Hmm I started with a heat gun, then found this thread and moved to the oven :)

I'll just keep at it. Thanks.

BMW E36 ??
