Finally sorted the dreaded red brake warning, and beeps!!! Hoorah!!

So who remembers the problem that we had with the red brake warning light and beeps On ORC??
just to remind you all, this is the car that was in the crash last year where the lad settled with us out of insurance and shortly after developed the problem with the red brake warning and beeps. At the time I created a thread (which I can’t find)

After reading extensively about this issue and talking to several people on this, I set about trying to resolve the issue.
I’ll add here that the only thing to cove any clue was this…
’engine control module, check DTC memory’

So, after replacing….
brake switch (x3)
all 4 wheel bearings
all 4 abs sensors
YAW sensor
replacement engine ECU
rebuilt ABS pump ecu
checking wiring, fuses.
new battery
I gave up!! I’ve been working in wales and not had time to get it to one of the specialists, and the mot ran out mid December
I have a local ish garage who has a young lad Jamie who is a bit of a whizz with VW and Audi cars, he spent ages sorting out an immobiliser/ ECU issue with a friends polo……basically nobody could sort it, and he took it on as a personal challenge. So for the first time since I was 17, I took a car to a garage for repairs and Mot if he could sort it……and he did!

So…..drum roll……
IT WAS THE ALTERNATOR!!!!!
Even though it was working, putting out power, and the battery good, after around 15 minutes the power output would dip in voltage and put on the lights and beeps!!
What the hell this has to do with ABS? Nothing, but there it is.
He did the mot after, and it of course passed with flying colours. I am so relieved this has now been sorted

thats great news , i had the same issue being caused by water in the tail light shorting the rear light to ground , which somehow caused a yaw rate sensor error every time the water reached the light . funny cars lol
