Be good to get this ball back up and rolling! I still haven’t fitted my seats

Jason, as Tom says, we have to decide whether to offset to the door side, which my bracket drawings show. The alternative is to offset to the centre console, which would very much simplify the fabricated rear bracket. The rear spacer plate may also need tweaking. Having sold my last 2 kits, destined for Jelly and Smurf, I now need 2 kits. Will try again to see if I can get brackets made to cover both offsets, then play with them on my TT seats in Jelly.Tom,

Afternoon Bob,
Looks like between your good self and Jason that this could finally get off the ground. Should you wish to commence with a group order just get Jason’s files sent to Cutting Technologies and inform them that you’re part of the A2OC to receive any discounts that they might be able to apply after 3 footrest orders and 1 armrest bracket order.
The list I started in within this thread but as it’s been quite some time it might be worth starting over.
Kind regards,
Tom
Afternoon,Is this finally happening?? Whoooo!
Afternoon,
I think this venture is being taken care of between both @Jellybean and @Jason_e. One of them should be along soon to give an update on whether it’s going ahead or not.
Kind regards,
Tom
Chivvied my fabricator up this morning. I need 2 sets to put TT seats in Jelly and Passat CC seats in Smurf. Hoping for news towards end of this week.A bit quiet on this front at the moment! But I havent forgotten.
I know @Jellybean has a plan to offset the seat inboard this time which may make a nicer bracket.
I believe the welded up flat bar brackets was 5 or 8mm thick so that it could be threaded to hold the seat bolt or bolts at one of the mounting points or more, I've seen seat pull tests in the past simulating an accident were the seat has ripped out of the floor or lifted the floor runner up with the floor.Chivvied my fabricator up this morning. Exploring the use of angle section to minimise cutting and welding, but remains to be seen how they turn out.
Will report as soon as I get them.

Yeah, you’d need a fastener In there. Something like a rivnut.I believe the welded up flat bar brackets was 5 or 8mm thick so that it could be threaded to hold the seat bolt or bolts at one of the mounting points or more, I've seen seat pull tests in the past simulating an accident were the seat has ripped out of the floor or lifted the floor runner up with the floor.
Threaded bar section a rivnut could pull out 70-100+ Kg plus seat weight in a head on at 40- 70 mph = a fair amount of force.Yeah, you’d need a fastener In there. Something like a rivnut.
Any modification to fitting of a non standard seat isn’t certified.Threaded bar section a rivnut could pull out 70-100+ Kg plus seat weight in a head on at 40- 70 mph = a fair amount of force.
Vehicle Assembly lines have automatic stops on them if the seat or seat belt fixings are not torqued to the correct value.
Hopefully a job for the weekend, it will test my hacksawing skills & arm .@Birchall 's ad re: TT seats made me look at this again - @Jellybean Bob was there any advance?
Morning Bob,Guys, apologies, as seat bracket manufacture hasn't gone to plan.
Soooo here are details of what I fabricated. All from 40 x 8mm steel, as I wanted drilled and tapped brackets rather than using thinner material with nuts.
Note. My seats were offset towards the doors, ie directly over the door side runners, which offsets the seat from the steering wheel. It never bothered me, but I think if offset towards the centre console, then the complex rear bracket would become just a spacer plate and the opposite rear bracket becomes an offset plate.
You will need one off each of the 4 brackets per seat. Just be careful about handing left or right with the fabrications.
Hope this makes sense, but if not, ask away!

Parts cut ready for next stagesMorning Bob,
Yesterday I got round to cutting the 40 x 8 mm metal strip into the pieces from your drawings but I have one question from drawing No 2.
The 85 mm long X 40mm has an angled piece cut out but no measurement of how far along the 85mm length.
Can you remember what it is and let me know please?
Thanks Stan.
