Foggy headlamp

But to avoid loads of masking when applying the lacquer, removing the lights is the best option. This polish can be applied by anyone, especially if they have just taken the time and care to sand the lenses before hand.

think I’m going to try the sealant as it’s so much easier to apply, and it doesn’t matter if it doesn’t last very long when it’s that easy to reapply. If I could easily remove the headlight I might try the lacquer but I can’t.

No as they are not bonded to the surface of the light. Yes they will protect from stone chips etc. Whether they would sacrificially yellow before the refreshed lights I can not answer. They are not all that easy to come by and relatively expensive compared to refinishing the headlights.

I did this the other day before the MOT. Sanded with 3000 grit first, then applied Meguiars Ultimate Compound with a polishing head on the drill before applying (twice) turtlewax sealant by hand. Showed a modest improvement however it was still visibly more opaque than the other headlight. In fact I gave it a quick wipe with WD40 on the morning of the MOT and the improvement was spectacular! I think maybe I’ve got to pluck up the courage to have a go with lacquer at some point.
