Front anti-roll bar drop linkages query!

I have done drop links on many cars in the past and don't have a workshop manual for the A2 yet, even if Haynes ever did one?? Begs the question?? Do we have a files section for owners who get spanner twiddling with their cars?

Question is.......... Is there any special way you need to do them in regards to pre-loading the strut with a trolley jack to save straining whilst fitting and torqueing up?
Also what is the correct torque for the nyloc nuts?

TIA ;)

suggest you do a search in google using A2OC what ever you are looking for its a much better search engine that the forums engine

There are lots of guids to doing jobs on the A2 if your like me a spanner man

Hi Paul..... Just seen one vid... It's a very easy job ??????????

yes easy job as long as the old ones come undone
Nearly every ones I've done I have had to take the angle grinder to the ends

Good quality penetrant oil like plusgas and a lot of time to soak and resoak even then.....

Plus one for Meyle drop links.

tends to make no difference. there is not a lot to stop the ball spinning, thats the problem
angle grinder through the nut fixes the problem though

Always used a joint splitter to force them apart. So far only one needed extra persuasion. That probably jinxed it now..:(

I'm with Paul: if you've got a grinder, pop in a 1mm disc and the link's off. The times I've got them moving and despite plenty of fluids, cleaning up the threads etc, even of you get them started after a while they seem to bind up, all flopping about etc.

No, grind, grind, plink plonk, sweep sweep and on with the new one and home for tea and toast: ideally though try not to slice into your strut / anti-roll bar ?
