Front brake disc shield removal

TRW/Lemforder are genuine parts why pay more to buy it from Audi? Wish i had money to burn lol
I talked to the store man today at an Audi branch he’s had shocks in with different name etched in he would not commit TRW are without doubt the best alongside lemforder on the project after this one that I’m building the parts bin for I’m using lemforder control arms top mounts f&r

Is this the same on the rear shields? Does the Hub need to come off like the manual suggests?

From memory, yes. Front shields only need the caliper and disc removed to get at the little fixing bolts. Rear I think the manual is correct, hub off which is why I left mine but could do with refurbing or replacement.

Bare in mind that they are no an MOT requirement, trap dirt/stones and add to heat in the area. I always run my cars without them.

I like to have them on as it helps with wet weather and braking on motorway supposedly

Also Steve just a quick one, do your 288mm discs fit under 15inch wheels?

Yes very much so, I had an Audi A4 that would not stop when it rained. It was recalled and revised front splash guards were fitted. Problem solved.
