Front wheel aero mods

It had a go at fitting the front wheel air deflectors but was unsure how to secure them. Ive bought the push button sort of clips for them but there is no hole in the wheel arch liner for them to clip into, does one need to be drilled? Also, are the remaining holes in the deflector pieces meant for the existing screws securing the wheel arch line and undertray?

Thanks
Rob

Sorry to sound like a dick but what are these and what are they for?

Thanks for the link to that thread spike, its the rivets for the winglets that I'm talking about. I cannot figure out where they are supposed to go unless i have to drill a hole into the front wheel arch liner.

you do not need to drill any holes, they are all already there... really, at least on any from 2002+. It is possible you need to drill on a 2000 or 2001 A2.

And they're not just for airflow, it's also to improve braking performance with salt water by redirecting the water away from the discs / pads.

The tongue goes inside the engine cover section and the bar of the T stays outside with the stem between the two layers of liner.

Thanks Bret, thats exactly what i was looking for. The holes are not present on my 2001 A2.

Ive been searching about these aero mods to buy, but can't seem to find any parts on eBay or so. Only thing I've found is a broken Votex kit for 899! Thats a big no of course.
Where shall I look for aero mods? Cheers

The front aero mods are only the air deflectors that are found on the 1.6 FSI these are part of the std fit. Maybe worth starting here first.

Cheers Phil
