Hi, new here, can anyone help I need to change the front wheel bearing, I have the new one and a socket to get the retaining nut off but how do I get the bearing itself off? do I need a bearing puller or is it more complicated than that?, has anyone done it and can give me some pointers.
cheers in advance.

You need a specialised puller kit wich costs loads and it's cheaper to get an independant to do the job for you.

There's no point in tackling this yourself without the proper kit as you will destroy the bearing housing and probably the new bearing when trying to fit it.

Cheers,

Mike

Hi Connor, welcome to the A2oc
Sorry to say its not a diy job as specialist gear is needed to change the bearing assembly. Once the lower suspension casting is removed you could probably remove the old bearing assy using a hydraulic press but to fit the new unit you need the special tool to pull the bearing into place. Its a split clamp arrangement which locates on the outer bearing race, under the whel hub flange. You can't just press or drift in the new bearing assy as the bearing races would be damaged in the process.

Just noted Mike bear me to it - but the answer is just the same

Cheers Spike
