FSi SE or Sport?

Could someone explain to me the difference between the Fsi SE and the Fsi Sport?

From what I can find on the net, it seems to be a leather covered steering wheel and handbrake, sports suspension and 17 inch alloys. I can't find anything to show that the performance is any better?

Also, from experience, which is the better option as the Sport version seems to be slightly more expensive?

There are no performance differences, only parts differences.

The Sport is probably the one to go for, mainly because it includes the full driver information system, which cannot be easily or cheaply retrofitted to the SE.

All the SE parts can be put onto the Sport though, with the most tricky possibly being front fogs, for which you can buy a genuine kit for less than £200.

SE gets leather wheel, gearstick and handbrake, front fogs, illuminated vanity mirrors and boot false floor and cover. Sport gets 17" wheels, DIS, suspension by quattro GmbH, sport seats with lumbar support.

There's probably some other minor differences too that I've forgotten about, but details can be found in the pricing and specification catalogues , several of which have been scanned and put on the site.

Cheers,

Mike

Mike, I might have missed this but did no SEs come with a DIS? I'd thought it was an option.

btw. The 2003 price list scans seemed the best when I recently had a look btw.

Absolutely - everything is optional, so you can have an SE with full DIS, or a Sport with fogs etc.

All I pointed out was the factory spec of each model, before you start getting to the options list.

Cheers,

Mike
