FSI with a rasp

Had the car a few days and apart from simple issues drives great, but have noticed that when driving in traffic or slow, there appears to be a sort of a rasping noise as if the exhaust manifold is blowing.
I have the typical rattle on start up, which I had read about, but this is a very strange rasping noise, if driving on a run sounds great and accelerates great, but as soon as I hit traffic slight noise from engine area no loss of power or misfire.

It could be a hole in the egr pipe. It happened to mine a few years back. See:

Thanks ben, In your post you also desribed a slow running noise, what is this and ow would you desribe it. Also anyone have a picture of the pipe.

A little update the noise sounds like a very faint VW camper noise

Egr pipe, mine went last year. Sounded like and air cooled vw or porsche but annoyed me!

Cheers Lamby , is it a diy job. also was your noise only when blipping the throttle or under load.
