Hi, here's a small question from Holland. I own a beautiful silver 2003 1.4 petrol A2 with Open Sky, Cruise control, the right wheels and so on, and I came up with the following:

VAG released a 1.4 FSI engine in the Lupo and the Golf. Does anyone know if the normal 1.4 A2 engine could be upgraded to FSI? In other words: are the engines the same, except for intake and injection parts?

Or could an entire 1.4 FSI engine be fitted into an A2 without changing very much?

The FSI engine has (a lot) more power with better mileage....

i'm no mechanic but my guess would be that any engine conversion or swap on a modern car would be extremely complicated, with car electronics being so complex nowadays the cost of conversion must outweigh any savings made on running costs.
