Hi folks,

I want to get an idea of what sort of merchandise members would be interested in purchasing from the club. The club isn't run for profit, so we'd only need to cover the basic costs of any merchandise produced.

Feel free to respond to this thread with any specific ideas - but in the meantime I've attached a poll - so vote for your favourite options on this list (you can vote for multiple products if you wish).

Ben

Hi - has anyone else experienced any voting difficulties on this poll? Paddys is having trouble voting - but I cannot identify why this is the case at this stage.

All Sorted...

The poll is now showing properly for me...

Thanks ben for the work on this...

As per Paddy's reply - I hadn't enabled poll voting (not pole vaulting) in the Annoucement forum (except for Owners & Discount Card Holders!). Should be resolved now.

Bearing in mind we now have only 30 replies from a week what does this tell us ?

1. Are people really wanting further merchandise ?

2. The top 4 categories are all at a similar level with 50% of the replies - does this indicate that we should be looking at these for the next products.

3. Bearing in mind that these 4 categories are pretty broad do people have specific requests from within these which they want - Personally, as an example, from the clothing - I'd be interested in some kind of T-shirt but that then needs some aspect of design to be done.... Do we have a graphic designer amongst our midst who would want to put some ideas together....

Any other comments ?

I think that the number of votes reflects the number of fairly active members that we have here. As long as we bear this in mind when considering any new merchandise, then I think we can still produce something new in a cost effective fashion. For instance, the minimum number of umbrellas that we could order is 25, whereas the minimum number of badges is 250. It would obviously take much longer to find buyers for the badges.

That would certainly make sense, yes.

We could create a new poll with specific products within these categories - I'll see if I can get some images of the sort of things sorted out. I have a design and typography background (and come from a family of graphic designers), and would be happy to drum up some suggestions for clothing designs. I would also welcome input from our members if they have specific ideas.

BEN has this poll now finished ,
i may have a go at doing a few
T-Shirt designs i was thinking of maybe doing a design with
a funny caption on the back as well as a more formal one ...

Hi,

We would love to be able to produce more merchandise but as we are a not-for-profit organisation - we have to justify any costs in projected sales. The trouble with any merchandise is that there is always a minimum order cost. It's typically about £200 for any of the options listed in the polls - you obviously get different quantities for that (e.g. 20 umbrellas or 500 keyrings etc). The window stickers took about a year to cover costs - so it's only going to be possible to do new stuff occassionally.

Perhaps we'll do a bit of fundraising over the next few months to generate some funds for a wider range of merchandise.

A2 Merchandise!!!!!

Hi Ben

Well i have not recieved my A2 yet, my dealer is really taking the p*ss taking ages to transfer my plate!!! i thought u could take delivery and just wait for the paper work afterwards???

well, i have a idea, on the next a2 run when we all meet up if can some how work out what would sell best (keyrings?? mugs etc) maybe we could set up a stall i think in somebodys boot maybe???? i dont mind doing it in mine (when i finally get it)!!!! if we set up some sort of stall, and i think people will buy i think u could even make a profit and that way you could re invest into the site!!!!! I really do think people will buy!!! and if we dont sell the first time round then we set up the stall again next time!!! IT WILL BE FUN!!! what u think??
