GDW towbar pics please

Thanks for all your help Olerype, greatly appreciated!!!

Ok just spoke to them & their sending me an email to return the incorrect kit. With the A2 specific kit, is this then simply a case of plug and play? Does it come with different connectors or am I missing something?

Which is the part number for the 7pin kit?
tia

Yes; all wires are precut and correct length. There are connectors that match the rear lights connectors, so you just connect to L+R in order to branch of to your trailer. Power is taken directly from battery by separate fused wire.

Brilliant, thanks a lot for all your help with this! Means I haven’t got to splice into my loom and hope I’ve done it correctly lol

There is a «controlbox» everything is routed via, and a separate power supply, so it means that the additional lamps in trailer are not powered from the same circuit as the car rear lights.

Ok so next question!!! Tow bar installed, onto the electrics! Does the whole boot trim side panels and floor have to come out to fit the electrics to the lights and battery?

Remove the back boot panel (easy). Just partially remove/loosen the one side panel, not the other. I removed both rear lights housings as well.

Thanks again, carpet removed, left side inner side panel removed, I’ve drilled the 40mm hole for the cabling to pass through into the boot, painted the hole just waiting for it to dry before I continue

Right all fitted, present & correct. Except!!!! When I hook the trailer up the lights work apart from my A2’s indicators that flash really fast but the trailers flash normally, any ideas anyone??

I still haven't sorted my wiring out yet, some little niggles I think the same as your having (gdw wiring kit)

1. When the adapter is plugged in the indicators flash really fast.

2. When the trailer is plugged into the adapter the indicators flash fast.

3. Failed MOT for rear fog light not working due to tow bar electrics.

Solutions:
1. Unplug the adapter when not towing.

2. Dont use a trailer with LED lights as the control box looks for normal bulbs

3. The kit is designed for European A2s where the fog light bulb is on the other side of the car. If you look at the link harnesses you had to plug into each light cluster you will see that the divers side link has 4 pins but the original loom has 6 so two are missing (for the fog bulb that's there). And on the passenger side there are 4 pins on the original loom but the link harness has 6 pins (for fog light bulb that isn't there). I'm planning to convert the rear fogs to have a bulb on both sides and add the necessary wires.

Ok that’s great info bud thank you, so I’m theory if I remove the fog light wires from the one side & extend the them over to the other light fitting that should sort the fog light out. I’m picking up some bulb trailer lights to replace the led ones on monday, I’ll report back in the week if I manage to get them both done

Yes that should solve it, but for the amount of work you may as well do the both sided fog light conversion as its only a fdew extra wires/pins and a bulb to buy

I haven’t checked yet but will in a minute, is there a thread you know of for adding the extra fog light bulb and how to wire it up? Fitted the new lights today and retired the terrible bodged job for the LED’s that the previous owner had done, all working great now apart from the fog’s
