hi james, just checking, is the JDD going into a remapped 75?Hi, sorry to hi-jack the thread. I'm just about to have a JDD fitted and it's now sitting at my garage but I need a better description of what needs done to the gearbox to fit it (I've heard grind off a mount and add some spacers, but not clear where these are removed/added) also as I'll be replacing the clutch which clutch is required a Polo Bluemotion or standard A2? Any help would be much appreciated. Cheers.
Good to know. Just checking James @mrbroons doesn't have 90, in which case some other grinding is required to clear the DMflywheel...My a2 has no remap on the 75bhp . Was fine with the Jdd
Ah right . Can you tell me what extra needs grinding as I'm going to do a how to for the 75bhp and might be worth a collaboration with the a member with the 90bhp setup so it's exhaustive resource of the Jdd conversion.Good to know. i'll dig out a link to the thread i used when i did the jdd install on the 90. its basically a couple of mm around the inside of the casing, although one post stated that just one small area will do the job - it went for more grinding rather than multiple attempts at refitting having not filed off enough....Ah right . Ok that would be great. I think i. Getting addicted to removing the gearbox on the a2, did you have any problems getting the drive shaft mount cup around the flywheel ring gear as I have been thinking on the next refit that I could take the drive shaft mount off the diff to make the job a lot easier. Is that what anyone did?i'll dig out a link to the thread i used when i did the jdd install on the 90. its basically a couple of mm around the inside of the casing, although one post stated that just one small area will do the job - it went for more grinding rather than multiple attempts at refitting having not filed off enough....
yes thats what i did, transforms the job, away from PITA, to more doable. here is one link i used. don't think i took any photos post grinding but if i did, will post them.Ok that would be great. Jdd bluemotion gearbox in a 90bhp
Hi, i have been reading various threads and have a few questions im hoping someone can answer. 1, with the duel mass flywheel about 1-2mm needs to be ground away inside the bell housing. 2, is the std 90 starter motor okay to use as the flywheel is very slightly bigger ? 3, is it better to...www.a2oc.net
Good day I've took more pictures of the mods for the Jdd . View attachment 100343View attachment 100344View attachment 100345View attachment 100346The red is where it was cut you use one spacer on one of throes holes and a nut on one of the bolts . I'm not 100 % on which way round but I will. Be refitting a Jdd in the next couple of weeks .View attachment 100347one space goes under the mount under the dog bone mount point . View attachment 100348Nut as it is not threaded on the Jdd box. I will check but it's one of those two holes . When I refit I will document the lot for you all.
