Gearbox oil

I'm going to change the gearbox oil on my 1.4 TDI (75).

As far as I read, the right choice is GL-4 75W90 and it seems that the original oil is the best choice. But It is not clear whether it is synthetic or not. Is not that important?

Or maybe there is a better option for gearbox oil?

the only serious alternative I've heard of is TAF-X. use original stuff, it doesn't matter if it's synthetic or not.

I'm planning this too. Did you get a good price for the gearbox oil? Can you suggest how much I should pay? Thanks

But still it is better than fully synthetic e.g. Castrol Taf-x?

And the number G 060 726 A2 is which i should take?

the part number is correct. The oil is made for the gearboxes and tends not to fail - it gets leaked out and bearings fail first.

We have /*no*/ points of reference for TAF-X and the group is five times the size in Germany. You'll not see any noticeable difference IMO. Feel free to search over there, I remember previously there was a discussion but TAF was more expensive and no-one could see the point in chancing it.
