Generic spare wheel

Stick it on and go for drive with it on. Im interested to know if it effects the stability as i was looking at TT / S3 (8N & 8L) wheels myself

sorry I probably won’t do this for a little while, a lack of level ground here makes changing wheels a bit of a faff, but @Olerype’s experience with the same wheel referred to at the start of the thread suggests there shouldn’t be any problem. Mind you I’d probably be pottering along at 40 or less with any space saver on.

So I collected my TT mk 1 spare just now (lovely bloke, gave me a VCDS cable and disk as a freebie :)). I was a tad disappointed at first to find it didn’t sit over the hole for the securing bolt, however subsequently very pleased to find that I could secure it with the bolt used to hold it down in the TT - the same as mine but with a longer shaft - through one of the holes for the hub bolts.

Quick update: I discovered that I can use the original A2 securing bolt through one of the holes for the hub bolts. The securing bolt initially appears to have too short a thread, however it has a collar on it attached by a couple of clips. If you remove it, it exposes more thread and it fits perfectly.
