Genuine ultra rare Audi A2 accessories ?

but I believe it was in error
I think we can now categorically say that this was an error. Back in 2008, when I bought my A2, I still held out hope that they might be spotted. However, thousands of A2s have fallen under your nose, my nose and @chumsofmanutd ’s nose collectively. At the time of writing, I’ve also worked on A2s in Belgium, France, the Netherlands, Italy, Denmark and Norway. None of us have ever seen anything but standard headlights, and nobody from anywhere has ever posted photos of OEM projector headlights. An editorial mistake created false hope, I suspect.

Cheers,

Tom

Evening Duncan,

Please do share pictures. I have secured the rear door blinds but still yet to collect hem. Hopefully they’re still available. I’m quite interested in seeing a close up of the rear blind to understand how bit is attached. It could be my next search item, although possibly never getting to fruition.

Kind regards,

Tom

I wonder if this is the only item that is also completely useless these days?
At least in DE there is no more analogue broadcast this would be able to receive, is it the same in the UK?
(Though I've gotta say, if money was of no concern, how cool would it have been in ~2001 to be able to watch TV in your small hatchback?! ?)
In the UK the transition to digital TV started in 2007 on a region by region basis and completed in Northern Ireland, on 23 October 2012 (wikipedia). So it has been off now for 9 years next week. Teletext finished at the same time. So depending on where you lived in the UK, anyone who had the TV option in their A2 it might have worked for a few years only in their locality.

Afternoon all,

Not that it’ll might be to everyone’s taste but I beleive there was an option for hard fitted blinds in the rear of the vehicle. Ive secured the rear door blinds but never seen the tailgate blind:

I have a 2004 S-Line FSI in Norway which I belive may be the full spec'ed DE version.
It had the previously mentioned aluminum shift knob (now changed to leather version as it was too cold during the Norwegian winters), RNS-D with TV and BOSE, OSS, etc, etc.
It also has the pop-up headlight washers mounted in the front bumper and I was wondering if that option was available/common in the UK?
I have also managed to find one of the top loading storage units that fits in the footwell of the rear seat (great for use with a child's car seat or without the rear seat). Pls overlook the state of the interior as the back of the A2 has been the domain for our spoiled rotten dog when traveling.

Talking about ultra rare…
What about the Telematic SOS Emergency call button in the upper centre switch console (where the OSS / reading lights are)

Afternoon Louis,

With my limited knowledge I didn’t even know such a button exists.

Does anyone have a picture of this.

What I have seen in the past is the ‘passenger airbag off’ illumination within the motion sensor panel for vehicles that left the factory with ISOFIX on the passengers seat.

I’ve been modifying this panel for some time and never got around to completing it.

Be really interested in seeing how Audi fitted this rare SOS button.

Kind regards,

Tom

Hmm, not aware the SOS button was ever a UK option on the A2. We are talking rare UK options here aren't we?

Perhaps available on the German High Tech or S Line versions neither were UK cars.

Akoya has the front isofix : airbag switch-off option, how rare is it do we know?

isofix was an option from the start and cost about £70. Where fitted the key operated front passenger airbag isolation switch was fitted in the glovebox and a warning displayed on the overhead lighting panel.

The Telematic SOS was only offered one or two years in the beginning. Even in NL it was not supported.
