Glove box light.

Hi Stephan
It may also be a faulty switch - this is an extract from a previous post on the subject

''It's a while since I fixed mine but from memory there is a small plastic arm which wedges open a set of contacts when the lid is shut. On mine, the arm broke off in the wedged open position so the light never came on. In your case, the arm must have failed when the lid was open so the contacts are permanently closed.
Unfortunately this arm is part of the hinge moulding and not a service part. You either need to replace the whole glovebox - or Araldite the arm back in position as I did. This is not a difficult job but the glovebox needs to be removed for access and this involves taking off the side trim around the door opening''

Cheers Spike

Be aware that a dealer will consider a light to be a consumable item and may well charge for the replacement, including labour, which will set you back about £70+!!

Cheers,

Mike

Thanks any chance you could provide me with some pics as I dont know where these points are!!

Thanks,
Stephen

The attached file shows how to remove the glovebox light. If the bulb is ok there may be a problem with the light switch. Access to the switch requires removal of the glove box. The switch is an integral part of the hinge assy - all will become obvious once the glove box is removed. Sorry I don't have photos of the switch and contacts

Cheers Spike
