I read that all new Mini owners are being told how to behave to other new Mini owners - a wave and flash of the lights. They are also told to expect to be mobbed when they stop from fans-or they are supposed to mob other mini owners-on or the other.

We have talked about this before, but I hope we all wave and flash our lights at other A2 owners?.

Trouble is, if I do that in Norfolk, it is generally a service A2 being driven by a customer/audi worker!.

I have to admit that a few other A2 owners have flashed at me in the past. I generally tend to give a little smile but generally never flash.

I would find it quite amusing though to see another A2 with a club sticker and I might even flash at them then!

I flash/wave/spock wave every A2 driver I see. Most reply with at least a wave. My biggest prob seems to be my wife who gets embaressed everytime I do it.

We've just got back from Hyde Park and the Proms thingy and on our journey there and back we didn't see one A2. Loads of Rollers, Mercs and other obscure cars you don't see very often - but no A2's. Surely it deserves a wave if you come across another of these shy little Audi's on your travels.

Almost a 1.4SE in Merlot Red, Biege interior, 16" 5 spoke alloys, DIS, Open Sky, Elec rear windows.

What is embarrassment ? I am highly embarrassed by what some politicians dare say in my name, but waving at another A2 owner is not a sign that you are about to kill them, or their children – so why be embarrassed ?

been there, done that.

I always wave at another A2 (once scared the hell outta me when the driver was one hell of an ugly woman who thought I fancied her), but my gf is always embarassed...

If you don't flash/wave on the open road, then it should be compulsory when you come across a fellow A2 in a Tescos car park!

Mmmmm I remember years ago when I had a Triumph Spitfire IV, us owners used to flash each other..quite friendly really.

Has anyone here gone so far as to stick the forum/A2OC web address under the wiper of a parked A2?. We could do with one or two flyers produced to do such a thing.

And seeing as you would only need one or two as I certainly don't see any parked A2's, the remainder you could stick on Merc A-class etc....!!!

Steve,

I once produced about 50 laminated business size cards to either put under the wiper blades of any stationery A2 which I saw, or to give them to the owners. Joke was that on my only 2 attempts the drivers were in courtesy cars and owned A4’s or A6’s. Several times I did see an A2 going the other way, but my reactions as an old man were far too slow to lean out the window and put a card on the windscreen.

Once upon a time Stuart did have my artwork on his website which could be downloaded for printing purposes, but I don’t know if it still exists.

JD-was that the sign that said things like 'share good/bad experiences', 'have a laugh and joke' etc etc?.

If so I have one up at my desk at work!. I did notice someone in our York office has a black A2-must email some links to them (if I kne who they were!).

As for not being quick enough, we must try the example of the old mail trains and set up 5 foot posts around the country with forum/A2OC info strung up, ready to be caught by the door mirrors.

Ah-good one!. I must print off 50,000 and do some door-to door stuff.......or leave some at the local Tesco's!.

you could of course visit you local dealer and find A2's for sale.

Great target for lot's of A2's, and the cards would last for a few more days !!

I would think that dealers could be very useful in promotion of the website/forum. As they're the main places on the web for A2 info, so dealers could use it to answer some Q's from punters, owners etc.

As far as waving, my friend has an MX5 (well, actually an imported Eunos), and the MX5 club members are supposed to wave at other 5's. Probably not too hard for him to find them about - his father has one as well!

In my Punto I sometimes feel like waving at other new Punto's, especially when I see one the same colour/trim/number of doors. There's usually a few on my travels to/from work in UK, but they're very rare in Oslo - in fact I've seen more A2's than new Punto's!

I'll be the second the confess (John being the first) to complete A2OC madness. I have printed over 100 small sized business cards (double sided) promoting the club and forum. These loosely use John's original artwork - which I'm fairly certain is still on my site somewhere!

Anyway, I have placed about 5 of my cards on parked A2s I have seen around the place including on in the South of France! The remaining 95 are sitting in the very useful slot behind the handbrake inside my A2!

I left one of my cards inside my A2 before Whitehouse Audi sold it on. I’m sure the new owner will find it one day and likely visit the forum – that is unless the dealer found it first and burned it.
