:) the forums are growing at a wild rate, nearly 300 members.... and this is growing on a daily basis, on average 3 sign ups a day since June.

I might do some members house keeping ? what do people think ? there are a stack of people who have signed up and never posted.

I was also going to set a link up for accepting donations towards running the hosting of the forums ? not a subscription a no obligation (on both sides donation)

Or we could stop allowing new people to sign up and have a closed forum of members already signed up ?

all ideas - what do you all think ?

Is there a problem about having members who do not post? Some people like to show support for a site by registering and surfing but not posting. How about emailing the lurkers and saying you will housekeep them away after a certain date?

Link for donations: think about whether this might arouse the interest of the interest of the Inland Revenue. For the record I am not a tax officer...

I have been around since the fairly early days but do not post much but I really enjoy reading the posts. I am sure we have a large readership.

I am unaware of how these things work regards finance but I would rather donate and keep this free and open than close the doors or it may go stale.

Does the extra traffic not mean more ad exposure?

I'd be happy to make a donation towards the running of the forum - but as Chivers says, you'll probably need to declare to the inland revenue whatever goes through your account!!

Is the main issue with the qty of people and posts the server space again?

Got the banners back on site, forgive my posts on this ever so often - it is just I have to justify the existance of the forums to a group of owners.

Just support the banners :)
