Having decided to rejoin the A2 family, I looked around for a low mileage one with a decent history.
Found one on eBay but it was in London and I'm in Northumberland, but a chat with the owner and some mot history checks, and I bought it and had it shipped up.
I know a bit risky, but I allowed for some work on the car if needed in my budget. Belt, water pump etc
Car arrived with a flat battery, and with a EML on. The MOT history had mentioned this a couple of times in the past, but not in the last couple of years. I put it down to a potential lack of use, the car had only done 57,000 miles and was averaging 3,000 miles a year in recent times.
Charged the battery, which has been fine since, took the car for a descent run and the light went off. Hoorah
So a few things needed to be done, biting point of clutch high, belt and water pump, but apart from that it's been pressed into service and has proved as much fun as I remembered.
One thing was the engine,1.4 petrol was a bit noisy, almost diesel like, so that's was added to the list. It also felt a bit sluggish, but as we were coming from a modern TT, anything was going to feel a bit pedestrian. And I thought a throttle body clean would probably help.
Well tonight the wife got the EML on again when coming home, but it was flashing this time, and experienced a loss of power. Light went solid after a mile or so, power came back but light stayed on, but no longer flashing.
Any thoughts, I haven't got the ability to do a scan.
