Headlight relays

Does anyone know the location of the headlight relays and if they can be or need to be upgraded for higher wattage bulbs?

I only ask, because the HID system I recently fitted has gone on one side - it has blown two fuses so far. I've tried the bulb from the faulty side with the other ballast and it's fine, as is a normal halogen in that side. Could it be that the relay isn't quite up to giving out all that is needed by the HID ballast, but yet can drive a halogen bulb easily? Could it be something to do with the chip tune I had yesterday? BTW The car REALLY goes like stink now!

Hope someone of a techy nature can help me out here.

Relay should not be the problem, if overloaded they tend to fail on (welded contacts) and if they fail they do not work at all. They are just an electrically operated switch. Is it the fuse that feeds the headlight or the fuse that feeds the relay that is blowing - or are they the same?

If the current through a relay is too high it could be welded in the closed position. Things like the glowplugs of a diesel do require special relays.
