Some months ago when we bought our A2 I mentioned on here that the 0/Side/Mainbeam red lights on the headlight switch weren't lighting up although the switch functions correctly otherwise. It was suggested that the LED's may be shot inside the switch unit.
I've since taken the switch out, fiddled with it, removed and reconnected the cable block connectors and replaced them and those symbols now light up intermittently. Normally they light up on first turn of the light switch and then go out; sometimes for the rest of that drive and sometimes they flicker back on.
Would it be folks theory that there's a dodgy switch contact inside the switch unit or a dodgy wiring connection at the rear? Common sense leads me to believe it's the former but does anyone have any thoughts before I rush out to buy a new switch unit?
Thanks,
Iain
