Hi All,

Yet another wannabe. Currently commuting in a Smart. Which although is pretty economical, it don't half get blown around.
I've decided after a bit of umming and arring (and having specced up an A1 to 23 grand) that I need an A2. I'm a bit of a VW fan if truth be told, 3 Mk1 Golfs, Mk1 Golf GTi, Derby, Mk2 Scirocco, Beetle T (currently) and now, soon, hopefully an A2. Branch out a bit ;-)

Ideally a diesel, my first, and bench back seat. Not too bothered about mileage, as past experience has told me VW group engines are pretty much bulletproof if they are looked after.
Just started looking on AutoTrader and here and there do seem to be a number of good ones about, but the majority seem to be up north. Ideally I want to go and look at an A2 in the flesh first to convince the other half it is the good idea I know it is. I'd love to spend a tank of petrol and go up to Altrincham to see the blue one currently in the for sale section, looks ideal but like i say, need to convince the boss, It's her Smart we are replacing, so looking locally in Swindon and Wiltshire for the moment.

So hopefully i'll be swelling the ranks soon.

Just as an aside, here's a piccie I took in 2002 after the Concept show in Gawsworth Hall. We popped in to a well known supermarket and I had to park at the back of the car park and get a photo. Oscar the Beetle was 8 months old at the time.

My drive may soon look like this. Hopefully.

If you are ever over in the Heathrow area I can show you a few, ranging from a 1.6 FSI (petrol) to a 2005 diesel, Also I have one with Bose (sounds)

I can also chat about the plusses (no minuses!) of the A2.

We have 4 in the family!

Hi,

Just spotted the mention of the A1, I bought my A1 two years ago and got carried away with the spec, it has EVERYTHING and cost over £29,000. Crazy I know, but I hate getting to sections in the handbook and skipping past them because I don't have the function installed!

Changing it soon and may even go for a TOP specced A2, if I can find one (they are like rocking horse poo)
