Hello new here. Advice needed

Thank you
I didn’t realise that the 1.6 needs super unleaded.

Perhaps I will look for a 1.4.
The advice on here is amazing.

Is there a link on the forum for the sticking flaps. I never knew this was an issue
I don't know if you are aware of the Market section of the forum; there's a one off payment of £2 required in order to access it - you click on various icons at the top of the page to see what's needed - but, I just had a quick look there and saw that there's a 2003 1.6 FSI with full service history up for sale for £1200.

Yes tops I pay £370 all in ...
May 2020, mine had a full Audi spec (inc oil, filter, coolant, but not plugs) service, MoT, + can belt, pump etc, + aux belt, + wiper, at local Indie, all genuine VAG parts.
Bill was £970.
They also do my TT, and I've used them for a few years. Not cheap, obviously, but good.
Mac.

I have paid, seen a nice 1.6 on there but a bit out of my price range
The £5,000 one? I was thinking about the two others, one at £1,200, the other at £1,300. One of them is a one owner example! Both appear to be advertised honestly and less likely to throw up any surprises.

Thats a heavy labour charge when i would estimate a parts bill of around £200 or am i missing something?

The indie I use is busy and popular. He's pitched close to an Audi dealership, bright airy, very well equipped, run by a real person, and staff who stay with him. I can talk to the owner, and he's knowledgeable and listens.
Given the value of my cars (an FSI Sport, 50,000 mls and a Mk1 TT, 75,000 mls) to me, saving a few quid once a year is not a priority. I used to DIY, but, although the mind is still willing, the body is less so.
I'm lucky enough to be able to afford to look after the cars as I'd like to.
Mac.
