Hello

If you come up to London, just come to our place and we'll drive you to the train station (or wherever you want to go) and the car will have a replacement roof in three hours. Its 30mins to Waterloo on the train from Staines.
We can remove the blind no problem, the roof needs to be open for that. However, bear in mind that the blind frame holds the roof lining up and it may sag if removed.
I've found the tool and it actually began to open the roof, but after like half an inch it stopped and then just "clicked" like the fuel cap during over turn. It closed smoothly though, which is good as I didnt wanna end up with an open top. Tried again a few more times, just goes up a bit, then clickes a few times and when turning opposite way it goes back to normally to closed position.
I'd like to sort it out when I go to London, so I send a PM when it's all good. Thanks

Hi, I was told by previous owner the oss been disconnected for years, she bought it like that, so didn't know the issue.
I looked around and found the switch unplugged. I reconnected them and to my surprise, the rear part of 1st glass began to lift 2-3 inches. I didn't think that wouldn't happen after years being unused.
When I tried slowly push the button longer, the left side began moving backwards, but the right one stayed where it was. So the cable snapped for sure. Fortunately the glass went back without issue.
Im trying to put the cash together to get the oss fixed, just would like to know if there's anything I need to do, to keep at least the rear opening part trouble free, as it seems that doesn't depend on the cables. Thanks

The rear part operates using the cables as well.
If it's currently closed then best to leave it like that until you visit Kleynie to get it repaired.

You're absolutely correct, the rear panel is completely loose and relies solely on the front panel for it's backwards movement. For now, if your roofs broken there's not much you can do about it to be honest, just give it a bit of grease for now.

I might've mentioned the rear opening part wrongly, I meant the rear part of the front glass above the driving seat, like how the opening operation begins. I didn't get to the point to see the 2nd glass moving ? when the glass reaches this high point like on my picture, I gotta stop there otherwise lift will be uneven.
But till this point opens and closes good, so I was just wondering if I have to lube/grease some part to keep at least this working till I get the money togethrr to get the whole oss fixed. Cheers

Sorry, my mistake, the only way you can get any grease in there is with it open unfortunately, so for now there's nothing you can easily do to make it better. And trust me, you certainly do not want to force it back to get grease in.

So opening only that much, doesn't really require much maintenance and should work okay regardless the broken wire? Not the best obviously, but for now it lets some extra air in, until I get the money together for the roof. Thanks

It does require maintenance still, but the problem is that the internals are impossible to get to from underneath, it's only accessible from above. So I would recommend leaving it as it is for now and not trying to get it open more as this will damage it more. If you're interested in getting it repaired, send me a PM.

I dont wanna open it more than that, and I'd like to get that done for surw, just need to put the cash together, cheers
