Help! Battery disconnected, boot won’t open

Hi,
I disconnected the battery this morning to remove the stereo only to find, when I wanted to reconnect it, the boot won’t open. Anybody any quick answers for what’s happened and how I get round it? I might be able to get to the battery by levelling the back seats but wondered if there was something I’m missing.
Thanks

There is an emergency release for moments like this.

Look at your bottom of the rear window and you’ll notice a plastic clip with a slit/slot in it.

Just put your key or a screw driver in it to lift it up. You will notice it has a black plastic cable connected to it. Just pull it up and your boot will release.

Kind regards,

Tom

Thanks! I’ll remember that for next time but as it happens I found it was easy enough to go in through the back seats so problem solved. Great forum this :)

There is an emergency release which is at the base of the rear windscreen and you can access from inside the car, kneeling on the back seat on the drivers side. It has a slot in it the same size as the key blade so you can lever it out and give it a gentle tug.

I've not had that problem myself, but I have had it fail to open by not pulling hard enough.
