But if you are replacing the intercooler , all new intercoolers are built to take the SMALLER Mass Air Pressure sensor.

I’m guessing either an Oem or Bosch one. Any idea on a part number as struggling to find the different sizes being terribly obvious on ‘the bay’ et al.

Having just seen this thread ‘revived’ in another post, I felt compelled to update it.

I should add that my father and I replaced the intercooler with a donor one kindly donated by @Proghound. Not the easiest job in the world but also not the worst either. The worst bit was removing the bumper etc tbh.

We suspect a contributor to the failure was the clamp breaking which supported the pipe going into the intercooler.

Im pleased to say that to date the car has done a further 15,000 trouble free miles since. ?

Yes I have commented many times that I believe a broken or missing turbo air outlet pipe bracket puts extra strain on the lower inlet fitting on the intercooler. This then vibrates / flexes more and the end cap cracks and splits open to spit out the seal. Boost lost and limp mode.
