Help wanted to choose a car

I can vouch for Honda for service. My wife bought a Jazz last year and had those reversing sensors fitted and colour matched to her bumper. I didn't like the way that they had fitted them (not in a neat line). No problem they said. They provided a new bumper and refitted without question. Then, a few months ago, her car rolled into the house due to the handbrake not being applied fully - damaging the front bumper and the house. Once again, no problem said the dealer. They replaced the bumper and paid for the damage to the house.

You simply don't get this kind of service from other dealers without some effort.

As I have said before on this thread Honda dealers are just a lot better than other dealers at everything, I have no idea why. One reason may, as a Honda salesman told me, be the entire warranty on any Honda is manafacturer backed. In most cases part of it is dealer funded. Honda dealers therefore suffer no financial penalty for sorting warrany issues and actively persue fixing them.

It's looking increasingly like a Yaris, he likes it, it's well within my budget, the dealer is very local. It's a run out model, so lots of goodies. Not final yet though, unimpressed w/- Fords.

He's gone for the Yaris, some change out of £9k so I'm happier (lots). He was concerned at the boot size, but has decided it's alright, it's a special edition with enough goodies to make it attractive, air con, alloys, rear spoiler (wow), met paint, about £3k less than I was expecting to pay. This will go in the garage where the Mondeo would not, there's an awkward turn which a Yaris can manage. Thanks everyone for the advice and comments, especially the warnings off, it's been a very useful discussion all round, we are very grateful to you all.
Now what can I do with the £3k I've saved? Oh yeah, pay for the new cat conv on the Volvo and 2 new tyres

Good choice. Much smaller than I would have thought for a family but if size was an issue and critea too then the Yaris is great. Will last and last I hope! Happy motoring!
