Hi all, I'm an 3rd time audi a2 lover and owner. Inwas wondering if anyone has had an alarm that just does as it pleases and goes off willy nilly and any hour of the day. I have tried to talk to mechanics even an Audi specialist who doesn't have a clue where the alarm is located to switch the sound off. Days particularly when the alarm goes off is windy days but even on a non windy day it goes off multiple times. Last night i had to spin it around the block to get everyone some peace and quiet. I'm hopefully not looking to get rid the last model i had was my perfect baby but some haters set it alight and now this ones just embarrasses me lol. My audi SE is 05 edition. Any recommendations please will be greatly appreciated.

The siren is in the boot. Drivers side low down under the rear light cluster .Get a full scan and see which trigger is setting off the alarm. Go from there,

Ohh thank you... is the scan the diagnostic machine mechanics use if so... i have a sit down at a mechanics once to wait on the alarm and it didnt read much that the mechanic could go off. And plenty times i have dropped off the car at the specialist and he claims it didnt go off once. Thanks again

A scan shows history. Maybe the mechanics are a little over egging their job description ...
Have a look at the Free Scan Register on here, probably someone not far away who will scan it for you.

Check the service flap is shutting tightly, and as no play as there’s a alarm contact there.

It could be any sensor, including the service flap, a scan will tell you which one. The scan data is historical, so will show you what been going on for some time. Needle in a haystack otherwise imo.

Could also be the rear window glass sensor. Ours started going off randomly. I fixed it by disconnecting the alarm sensor on that back window as that was the one triggering the alarm
