Hi

I not sure what the problem is but when im accelerating in my A2 its not smooth at all, it feels very strange sort of surges as i put my foot down. Very odd. Is this a common problem ? Any ideas what it could be ? The car is a 1.6 FSI SE. Im also a little concerned that when i start the car it sounds like a diesel for some reason, numerous people have commented on this so its not just me.

A friend of mine mentioned that the acceleration problem could be down to the fuel , I normally fill up at tesco !

Any input would be much appreciated.

I also have an FSI, and I too get the 'surge' when pulling away, I have only had my car for about 6 months and it seemed worse when I first got the car. Since then one of the coil packs went, which I replaced and it seemed alot smoother afterwards however now feels like it is getting worse again.

Mine also sounds quite noisy but only for the first couple of seconds and from previous threads on here I understand it is quite normal for the FSI engine.

I must admit the FSI engine does not fill me with much confidence, although I have also read that people reckon it runs smoother on a higher fuel.
