Welcome!

I’m from mid Devon (around Okehampton)

Looks nice, what mileage is it on?

It’s a little hard to see so I might be wrong, but it looks like your wiper might be scratching the windscreen, @depronman refurbs wiper arms which will stop this from happening

Re the wiper arm. It’s a hook arm as expected on an early A2
They are well known for pivot pins /bushes wearing badly which causes the wiper arm end to move closer to the windscreen until eventually it touches the screen and starts to scratch it. This starts at the bottom but if left unresolved will quickly carry on up the screen
Once it gets into the drivers field of view the mot man will fail it and its then a new screen plus a wiper arm else it will do the same to the new screen
Neither of the wiper arms is available new any longer
I started to refurbish the wiper arm around 7 years ago and have done literally hundreds of them, new arm end bushings, stainless steel pins and precision made and a repaint in satin black 2K paint
They are on an exchange basis and I can send out the refurbished arm first and you swap over then return the old arm
£40 for the hook arm
£50 deposit returned when I get the old arm back
£7.50 postage

Drop me a PM if you would like one
Also worth checking out my other parts in ‘Depronman services’ thread as other bits could go postage free with the wiper arm

Cheers Paul

Brian thank you. Will check out your other items and let you know. It's by no means mint but just a few niggles to sort. Sun visor clip, electric windows need lubricating, arb bushes fuel flap not working but screen does not recognise driver door open so think it might be related.

Hi @Keg_GT - welcome.

If i'm not mistaken you bought this car from Matt in Nuneaton?

Drop me a PM when you can and i'll sort you out with the visor clip.

Many thanks
Craig

It’s Paul not Brian
The fuel flap not opening is defo because of the drivers door not appearing to be open according to the car
There may be other reasons as well but hopefully not
Drivers door will be either micro switches or solder joints need reflowing

Yes completly correct. Seemed an honest car but I will find out if I missed anything as I work through it.

Yeah the drivers door needs to be open for the fuel flap and interior monitoring buttons to be enabled.

I think the micro switches are a fairly common failure point, as covered Here

Well been away from cars and on a DIY hall project now I'm back on this. Windows needed some lube as were sticking occasionally. Alsp noticed the nearside rear glass is un tinted would it be best to find factory tinted glass or just get the one done to match?
