Home made Votex style rear spoiler - YT How To video

Just seen this posted today on YouTube. 20 min video on how a guy makes his own Votex style rear spoiler

Apologies if he is a member and I've taken his thunder!
Nice mod, if he sold it for around £200 I'd interested as well.

This is my first one, I'm currently working on another one at the moment

Here's the link to the thread I done of the copy I made for my white car.

Are you getting ready for a production line?
My plan is to make another one then see if I can get a fibreglass company to make a mold to make the process less time consuming and cheaper.
As is I'd need to charge at least £400-500 each to get them into primer ready to paint to cover the cost of materials and my time which I doubt people would pay for a copy no matter how good it is 🤔

Hi Ian,

Cannot remember if I mentioned this company before; but Trent Plastics offer the sheet plastic along with a fabrication service.

I was going to approach them in the next month or 2, after I had a go myself, to see what costs might be involved before offering it as my next Group Order venture. Obviously no need if you’re already looking into this.

It would be a great seller if they (or any other company) could produce a quality, light weight product at reasonable cost.

Good luck with this and it rightly should be something you continue with, you were the very first DIY Votex spoiler, which I must say look lovely. I’d be after one for a certain Dolphin Grey A2.

Kind regards,

Tom
