How do I know if my A2 has a DMF?

Second hand dogbone ordered and hopefully all will be well again.
I've already suggested that you use a VAG specialist and this sorry tale just reinforces that advice. You don't want a second hand dogbone, you need a new one. Any mechanic who works with VAG cars on a regular basis would have access to TPS, who probably have the part you want on the shelf.

Obviously a new one would be preferable, but if my second hand one for £34.95 inc postage is good then I would hardly call it a sorry or expensive tale. My mechanic will probably charge half the price for labour as others I could use. Audi quoted over £200+Vat for this part new but then stated they ceased production of these parts and that my only hope was to by a second hand part. Now I know I can interchange with a polo 9n dogbone if the second hand part fails in the future I use that and change it myself.

You’re likely to have a similar issue with a second hand unit. Better to use a polo 9n one that’s brand new for about £35
Thanks for that information. Should have posted here first. I dont mind buying a second hand part if it is in good condition. It will cost the same as the new polo 9n one. Here is picture of the part. Is this what you were refering to? Is the polo 9n exactly the same or different but interchangable?

The polo part has a different steel bracket on the end you just need to swap this over to the new alloy mount & refit to the a2( make sure you keep the old bracket off of the a2!)
